King Abdulaziz University, through its Faculty of Earth Sciences, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. (Saudi Arabia branch) to foster collaboration in research and training within the field of Earth Sciences. The agreement supports the Kingdom’s energy and mining sectors and aligns with the strategic goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The agreement aims to align the efforts of King Abdulaziz University and Halliburton in supporting national development and responding to the evolving needs of the energy and mining sectors, in line with the Kingdom’s strategic priorities.

The MoU seeks to equip the Saudi labor market with highly qualified, competitive talent by focusing on human capital development. It provides hands-on training opportunities for Earth Sciences students to develop essential practical skills and apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings. The agreement also creates pathways for employment opportunities for qualified university graduates based on Halliburton’s workforce needs.

In addition, it offers academic and technical support by facilitating access to specialized laboratory analyses for student research.

A core element of the MoU is the advancement of applied scientific research in Earth Sciences, in ways that support the Kingdom’s strategic direction and localization objectives under Vision 2030.

To ensure effective implementation, the MoU includes regular reviews by joint working teams responsible for overseeing all areas of collaboration. These teams will ensure the initiative remains aligned with developments in the sector, emerging technologies, and global best practices in training and research.
